Before you book the exam

Recommended background: 5+ years of paid, full-time work in 2 or more of the 8 CBK domains

Renewal cycle: 3 years, 120 CPEs (min 40/year) + USD $135 annual maintenance fee

ISC2 rebranded from (ISC)² in August 2023.

CISSP exam refreshed on April 15, 2024, added quantum key distribution, SASE, Scaled Agile, software composition analysis, IAST.

Candidates without the 5-year experience requirement can pass the exam and earn Associate of ISC2, with up to 6 years to gain experience.

After passing, candidates need an ISC2-certified endorser within 9 months (ISC2 can act as endorser if no peer is available).
